My Story
HMP Kilmarnock & Recovery Enterprises Scotland are delighted to take part and support the 16 Day's for Action which is an opportunity to shine a light on violence against women and girls all over the world.
As members of the Violence Against Woman Partnership we will be carrying out a number of events to support vital funding for East Ayrshire Woman's Aid.
East Ayrshire Women’s Aid provide information, support and refuge accommodation to women, children and young people who experience domestic abuse. Their aim is to do whatever they can to support woman and children to live safe and happy lives free from the threat of abuse and violence.
On 6 December 2023 HMP Kilmarnock will be hosting 2 sponsored sports events which will be:
In the morning there will be a SPL Stadium Tour (within the prison) which incorporates running, rowing & cycling equivalent to 150 miles.
In the afternoon there will be a sponsored weight lifting event where participants will bench press a total of 100 tonnes.
Any sponsorship will be gratefully received for this amazing charity.
